For this genre, I designed this poster to serve a visual representation of racism and empathy. It is intended to provoke many responses and ideas in relation to the themes being explored. A yoke can be a symbol for the burden of the discrimination and racism African Americans have experienced throughout history. And the word "yoked" can have a negative connotation to it, reminding African Americans of their burden and white supremacy. However, on the other hand, the image of the double yoke can portray the more positive side: empathy. If two are "yoked" together, they carry each other's burdens and are able to empathize with each other's lives.
